Katherine Wilcox

I have always had a reverence for and a fascination with birth. I completed my birth doula training with Carriage House Birth, of Brooklyn, in 2023. Aside from this training, I have been doula-curious for most of my adult life. I have attended friend’s births before I even understood what a doula was. My formal training gave me a unique lens through which I approach the birth space now. Learning from experienced doulas, mentors, esteemed birth educators, and antiracist and LGBTQIA+ activists has provided me with a solid base from which I support my clients. It has also allowed me to better examine the aspects of bias, privilege, race, and inequalities, which all intersect the birthing process. I currently sit on the board of Doulas of Rhode Island as a membership coordinator for our non-profit organization.

I am quick to bond with my clients and form deep friendships that outlast the birthing space. Witnessing new life enter the world is an honor and a privilege that I feel lucky to be a part of. I love supporting people as they themselves are reborn through the act of birth itself.

My greatest joy- I am a mother to two young, incredible children. With my husband, our howling rescue lab mix and our two magical little babes, I enjoy time with my family, reading, music, outdoor adventures and most everything our beautiful state has to offer.
