Katie was nothing short of the most empathetic, adaptive person to have by my side from pregnancy, labor, immediate postpartum and beyond. She supported me through my first pregnancy with the comfort and experience of an older sister.  Every question I had, she had the answer. She was accessible immediately after I realized I was in labor, and accompanied me to the hospital not once, not twice, but three times before they admitted me.  It was so special to know that my chosen support person was truly there for me and ensured that my partner and I were not alone for any step of the experience.  She sacrificed sleep and time with her family, but accepted no apologies in return.  She truly wanted to be there for me.  She made sure my wishes were heard and respected by medical staff and spoke for me when I was unable to speak for myself.  After having my son, she respected our time as a family and left the hospital but made sure to follow up for a home visit once we were ready to welcome guests.  Katie was so tender with our son and her energy was nothing short of pure happiness in the presence of the newborn she helped into the world.  I cannot put into words how valuable of an asset Katie was in facilitating a happy, healthy, and stress-free pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience.
